    Regarding CA sales:

    From: Matthew Carmel <mcarmel@oshadata.com>
    To: chs@23.org
    Subject: RE: Palm Pistol Preorder

Production models are not yet available. We will likely submit one to CA for
evaluation but this will not be a high priority. You can check back with use
    in 2010.

      Regarding pre-orders:

      From: Matthew Carmel <mcarmel@oshadata.com>
      Subject: Palm Pistol

Thank you very much for your interest in my design. I have been getting a fair number of positive comments and so far, I am encouraged.

The purpose of the offer on the Palm Pistol website is to obtain a minimum of 200 pre-production $25 commitments before proceeding with actual production. Deposit money will be placed in an escrow account established specifically for this purpose. No money will be used for operating expenses. These funds are simply a mechanism to provide evidence of the existence of a real market to investors who we will approach for financing.

I estimate a decision whether to proceed or not will be made during the first quarter of 2009. If a go ahead decision is made, I expect deliveries sometime in 2010. If a decision is made not to proceed due to lack of demand, all deposits will be returned without interest. Also note that the deposit will be returned to you at any time for any reason up to the point of delivery. The reservation is not transferable. The projected retail cost is $300. Your deposit will be credited towards the cost and in addition, all pre-production customers will receive an additional $25 discount. Shipment will only be made through your designated FFL.

In order to secure your place in line, I will need your name and home address, telephone and/or cell number and your credit card number with expiration date and name as it appears on the card. If you don't feel comfortable emailing me the information, you can call my office number below and leave the information on my voicemail. Alternately, you can mail a check or money order made payable to Constitution Arms. The mailing address is 12 Hoffman St., Maplewood, NJ 07040.

Again, thank you for the trust you are placing in me and know that I am doing everything possible to bring this product to market.

      Matt Carmel

I see this as being designed to be hidden in a cane, but they are carefully not mentioning this.

If you look at the diagrams of it, the area around the barrel looks to me to be designed to have a tube fit over it...

Thats because tht would make it an AOW. I already thought about that. It would be worth the $200 to Form 1 that, or find a friendly 07/02 to Form 2 it and Form 4 it back for less than that.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I like the thought that it may be an approved device for medicare. Just the thought of the .gov buying guns for the elderly tickles me.

The only issue I see with it coming to CA would be the fact that it's a "firearm which is not immediately recognizable as a firearm" unless you already knew about this product. If this is the case, the palm gun would be illegal to manufacture, import, offer for sale or lend in CA as per 12020.(a)(1).

Another issue is that it doesn't have a LCI that's distinctly viewable from 10 ft away!

This might actually be in issue. But if you read the above email(s) from the inventor, he's planning on pushing this gun through California. The fact that it's already approved as a medical device might help that cause. The BATFE has already approved it as a regular handgun vs. an AOW. That's good news.

                      So? It's not a semi-automatic. LCI doesn't matter.

Just read that its not getting approved.

Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?

My jaded view is that if you make a single-shot pistol and it gets classified by the .gov as a medical device, that's a SUICIDE GUN. Just another way to get people off the government healthcare/welfare rolls.

Now if it was just made to be a gun, then it would be the latest in a long history of single-shot pieces, just because mankind could.
