Yep, I'm cheap. A 6 buck letter sorter works for me. I'll put some non-slip strips in the bottom so they don't move so easily.

Being handy/creative opens up more $$$ for ammo! Cool idea. Laser engrave some and throw them up on the marketplace

I don't have an image of it but I'm sure most of you have seen the potholder mittens from the dollar store that could be used as pistol rugs that another Calguns member had posted up.

Now that's cheap but just like your idea it does works.

IDK about oven mitts as pistol rugs, but I always take one of the type with the silver (heat resistant) lining to the range:



In case you need to boogie before you can let your barrel cool down, the cheapo oven mitt saves the interior of my soft rifle cases.

you are not cheap. if the same exact thing was being marketed and sold as a pistol holder, it would just be marked up a lot more.
