    Customizing my AR15, Advice needed

Hello everyone. I've been putting thought into my AR and wanted to get a other people input on it. My focus right now is to have an Aimpoint, a magnifier, and a set of Iron Sights to coexist. What I'm having trouble/questions with are:

    1) What Iron Sight sets do the military use on their M4?
    2) If exact sets that the military use are not available; what's a good alternative? (No plastic, fixed front sights, or flip ups)
    3) What mount would I need to use on the Aimpoint and magnifier to coexist with the Iron Sights?
    4) Would it be preferable to have a slap mount going towards the left or right for the magnifier?
    5) Any suggestions on which Aimpoint and magnifier to get?

If anyone is wondering, I am currently thinking of getting the comp4. Still clueless of an exact magnifier. Also, the hand rails are free float quads 7". I'm trying to make the front gas block Iron sights to be flushed.

My understanding is the MATECH was widely used in Iraq and Afghanistan, but I cannot be positive. Im sure others more knowledgeable will comment if I am wrong. Regardless, its one of the better rear BUIS out there. Nothing sexy with the sight but it works well for me.

Your standard military M4 (ARMY), and M16A4 (USMC) both come equiped with a Front Sight Post. The rear sight aperture differs but they are definitely not plastic.

You have to decide if you want your aimpoint to be a 1) Absolute Co-Witness, or 2) 1/3 Co-witness. Simply put, absolute will put the red dot at the tip of the front sight (iron) when the sights are aligned, and 1/3 means the red dot will be slightly above the fronth sight when the sights are aligned.

For the Aimpoint, in my opinion, a CompM4 is just too large and heavy for the price tag. Im sure it could take a bullet and still function but it's a bit overkill. If funds are of no issue, I would go with the T-1 due to it's size and overall quality. If funds are a little tight, I would go with a Aimpoint PRO. It has the electronics of a CompM2 in the body of a CompM3.

For the magnifier.... in my humble opinion, Aimpoint or Eotech brand magnifiers are extremely overpriced. A Vortex Optics magnifier with an aftermarket flip mout will cost you half and do the same. The magnifier should flip to the side of your dominant hand.

I hope this helps. Have fun with your build.

MaTech flip up rear, built in FSP front. Mostly. At least in the Army.
        2) If exact sets that the military use are not available; what's a good alternative? (No plastic, fixed front sights, or flip ups)
They're widely available. Even the airsoft version will do fine. They're about $40-$70 depending on where you buy them.
        3) What mount would I need to use on the Aimpoint and magnifier to coexist with the Iron Sights?
As stated below, depends on witness. In the Army we had ours at a full witness. Worked well with the Aimpoint M3 red dot. I hated the aimpoint itself though.
        4) Would it be preferable to have a slap mount going towards the left or right for the magnifier?
What the hell is a slap mount? No.
        5) Any suggestions on which Aimpoint and magnifier to get?
        Yeah. An ACOG TA31.

        See above in red.
