Yet another "appendix carry" Darwin award winner...

Article says it all. Very few of the people doing appendix carry should be I suspect.

Believe I'll stick with my thumb safety pistols a while longer.

Unless you are VERY VERY well trained and have ABSOLUTE muscle memory for straight finger AND are not a fat body with rolls of fat and un-tucked clothing to foul your draw/reholster, "JUST SAY NO!" "Don't take the appendix holster... you'll kill yourself..."

Poor guy, I know they say that accidents happen, but, preventable accidents are especially hard to swallow. God rest his young soul.

I am , and I carried a 1911 style gun with very light trigger in the past and never had any issue with it.

The problem is never the well trained shooter. Its the guy who surfs forums like this, watches "do it yourself" youtube training videos and buys a gun without any Professional training and muscle memory/skill set development that uses appendix carry to his own peril. The problem is that there are A LOT of "those guys"....

                  Too soon? Too soon?

Anyway, yeah this is very disappointing. I have carried appendix a few times, but to me it just makes more sense to carry at 4-5 o'clock. My reasoning is if somebody were to ever try to jack me for my wallet, I can reach back as expected, but I ain't reaching for my wallet...

Every time I've carried appendix, I think about the leg shot every time I put my gun there. I either carry my Shield, which has a manual safety, or my P-01, which always gets carried decocked.

Condolences to the kids family. Let this be a wake up call to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!

Have a heart, guys. He was young and probably inexperienced with firearms.

                    RIP.

I was thinking about appendix carry a few days ago. Why give a chance to hurt yourself if some human error accrued .

RIP to the young lad. There's a few lessons to be learnt/reinforced here for sure.

Fortunately my ample and quite visible abs preclude any form of frontal carry.

Unfortunate loss of life. What a terrible accident.

Thankfully no one else was injury or killed.

It would be interesting to know how many morons die every year "posing for a selfie" doing various risky things...
