    Jack Berman has Passed Away

The San Bernardino Sun reported that Jack Berman passed away in his sleep on August 24, 2015 following a brief illness.

Jack operated Jerry Berman and Sons, and California Wholesale, on 6th Street in San Bernardino. His gun shop was truly unique and a great place to see and purchase beautiful firearms.

My condolences to the entire Berman family.

The firearms and sporting goods industry have lost one of the greats. The gun talk and banter in Jack's shop will be missed.

I have wanted to visit for months but they have really weird hours for the general public as it was explained to me over the phone. Still, they supply my fav LGS with powder so I appreciate what he and his family do.

            RIP

I did not have the privilege of visiting his store and my sympathies go out to his family, friends, and loyal customers. Anytime a local icon in the firearms world passes, we are all lesser for it.

Does anyone know if they plan on staying open?

They have reopened. And they are still the best store in town for brown guns (wood stocks). Great folks to work with.

He was an institution in the IE.

Grumpy most of the time, quite knowledgeable.
