Turning a Springfield into a STI?

I've got STIs that feel a lot smoother and have lighter recoil than a Springfield, even when I swap in the same main and recoil springs.

Aside from checkering the front strap and undercutting the trigger, what should be done to the Springfield to generate the same smoother feel the STI has?

Call their custom shop, explain what you want, send it in. They do great work, I have a loaded 1911 that will be visiting them shortly.

Which STI(s) are we comparing to?

      19/2011? Bushing/bull? Full/reg dustcover? Radiused FP stop?

      Lots of variables...

        Trojans and Duty Ones.

        Single Stack, Bushing, regular dustcovers.
