    LEA's EOD units do this all the time. They burn off all of the turned in / found ammo etc... It can't be used by the department, as it is usually old, not factory ammo and of unknown origin (reloads?). Fireworks and other flammables are all disposed of in much the same manner, often at the same time. This happens several times each year at my agency.

                    I would bet that was a lot more than 2000 cartridges, based on the flame.
                    Fastest way to de-mil & scrap worthless ammo.

                        Another person that has no use for satire. I went to post office and packaged some bullets for shipment and printed a label and a guy behind me said you can't ship bullets and I told him same thing .
