    Transport question

I know this is ridiculous that I have to ask this, but, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I know if you're transporting a pistol it has to be in a locked container, no ammo, yada yada yada

However, what about a slide? Just a Glock slide. No polymer portion in the car at all, but the slide fully assembled. Does it have to be locked up because it still contains a barrel and a striker? I always thought the receiver portion was "the gun" but not sure how this applies to pistols.

    Thank you in advance!

A slide is not a gun it is just parts.

^ +1 Slide is just a gun part.
The "gun" is the frame where the serial number is- it has to be locked, even if it is just a bare frame.

There's no law against ammo, you can have loaded magazines with your gun just not loaded in the gun.
