I have occasionally go out to the fairgrounds gun shows near me. But I haven't been in a number of years. The selection for browsing has drastically diminished, the theme of being a "gun" show has turned into the jerky/jewelry/scented candle/coin appraisal show has increased dramatically.

Additionally, they just keep getting smaller and smaller with the same overpriced accessories. At least in my neck of the urbans. :P

Parking and entry free are pretty steep here too.
      Sorry, not sorry.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!

The OC and IE COTW Gun Shows are awesome. I never miss them. If time permits I go both days and take a wagon with me to carry all the stuff I buy.

I also hang out with some of my reenactor friends. I have a casual interest but these guys are pretty hard core into it and have soldiering in their blood. Not to be trifled with.

Stop that. You know we are trapped behind enemy lines, comrade.

if you get something or find a good deal, great
but for me it's more about enjoying the day.

and to all the people who never go to gun shows anymore...

I think you or maybe future generations might miss them once they're all gone.

( just a little bit & probably only the beef jerky.)
Thats the way I think about it, it is a day out where you get to look at some interesting things, handle some guns that you may want in the future and get a few things that you may need.

Didn't see any candles or sheets this time but only saw 2 jerky vendors. My son got a pack of teriyaki that was delicious. Also found a set of new looking Tokarev dies for $11 less than the cheapest on line, 100 or so paper targets cheaper than on line, Tru Oil that you can't get in CA any longer, 10 round AR mags for $8 ea, got 8 pounds of powder that I have not been able to find for almost 2 years and another 8 pounds of needed powder... and 10k of primers that were $8/k less than on line. Usually at Powder Valley once your order gets to $300-$400+ hazmat & shipping you are cheaper than gun show prices.... I saved double my admission at just one vendor.

I have been drooling over the idea of getting an SVT40 for the last few months and I got to handle 3 of them Saturday... that made my afternoon.

Maybe things are slowly looking up until the next panic. The best show I have been to was in a free state.

Did you handle the $2000 one that the Mexican guy that goes to every show has that gouges all his stuff and has no price tags on anything except the guns? Did you actually have any intention of buying any of the SVT's? And yes candles were there for sure. Scentesy does like almost every show in SoCal now. I think the pillow/sheet vendor was too but I'm not sure. The massage toy people were there.

Non gun tables got super out of hand now someone had table space inside trying to get you to sign petitions about not having to have your child vaccinated. They were super annoying and pushy. When I blew them off the guy got passive aggressive with me. Anyone remember when they had tables 2-3 times at various Crossroads shows for someone pushing herpes treatment snake oil?

They were all over priced, I think the lowest was $1,600. I had no intention of even trying to talk any of them down. I have seen them here in the market place and on gunbroker go in the $1,300 range. I saw the petition guy and looked the other way when I went by. I didn't notice the candles or sheets, I may have been looking at the opposite tables going down the isles... I tend to tune out things that I don't have interest in.

Yes, but he picked up an officer's tunic from a militaria vendor at the last show so he is now Hauptmann Shultz. It seemed silly to click heels and salute him in the food court but he insisted on it.

The jerky can not be beat at gun shows also once in a while you find good deals on ammo and acessories. Also they have some good gun t shirts stickers etc

This. The Vegas Crossroads of the West show trumps any gun show in California, and not just because of free state items, but price, quantity and service as well.
