    Shooting spot

Hello guys/girls I'm new to the area as well to calguns . I am asking for help on areas on BLM land where I can take my 5yr old & also sight a few rifles in . I am in Modesto area so hoping to find somewhere within a short drive that's legal . We used to go to an area up around valley springs but recently it's been closed . Any help is greatly appreciated calguns .

Most shooters are not wiling to share their favorite BLM shooting spots because when they become widely known they fill up with tons (literally) of trash and you start meeting interesting scary people that were never there before. And then BLM shuts them down.

Check out the BLM map above, call the BLM and see if you can get someone to talk to you about good shooting spots. Then, plan on spending a couple of trips driving around hell and gone to find a good spot.

And have to say it, please make double sure of your back stop and what lies beyond.

      Good Luck and Good Shooting!

You are in Modesto. Pay the $15 and go to Manteca range off highway 132 past Mapes ranch. You can PM and I could take you to another local club I belong to.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Not BLM, but pretty close to Modesto.

              100%.
Word is, most areas are closed for fire danger anyway.

As the owner of a remote cabin near BLM land, considering the current state of the forests, I support this.
