I would think that if the weapon were actually an NFA item, at least it would have reported.

Not going to believe this but, I just met the guy and his wife who called the sheriff on the idiots at Spenceville. Was at Sportsmans Warehouse browsing the bulk rifle ammo section and overheard them telling a clerk about the incident. They said the idiots had a fully automatic AK with a huge drum and were emptying it down range, often while others were changing targets etc....

The caller was there for a "bachelor party" and said the idiots were firing wildly and couldn't control the muzzle, due to it being full auto. He said brass was hitting everyone and pelting their cars, which they hid behind while awaiting the sheriff for nearly two hours. He said they had to wait around another two hours to give witness statement, along with any others. The man and his wife still appeared to be pretty shaken up over the ordeal and believed the shooters to be druggie / cartel types, and complete idiots.

I am going to call BS on the story. There are so many stories told at LGS and unless you knew them personally, it could easily be another BS story to make the person sound self-important.

I did a bit of Google-fu. The two people arrested posted bail and were released. The DA made a statement after the arrest that he had not pressed any charges and he would have to look further into the facts before he did. I still cannot find any formal charges that have been filed (I know the DA still has more time to do so).

If it was a fully automatic AK 47 they could have easily handed them over to the Feds and be done with them. I know in my county, that is what they do. It saves a lot of money.

The average person does not know the difference between automatic fire and rapid firing a semi-auto. They may have also had a bump-fire stock. Of course those are illegal in CA.

Finally, if the people were so afraid of the idiots firing the AK 47, why did they stick around for 2 hours waiting for Sheriff Deputies to arrive. Personally, if it was that bad, I would have gotten out immediately and waited for the SD down the road. If they were really druggie/cartel types with automatic weapons, it could have easily been a SHTF situation when the SD arrived. True cartel types do not care about about the lives of others.

Finally, if it was a fully automatic AK 47, that would have hit the news. People would have had their 15 minutes in the spotlight telling the cameras how frightening it was to be at the same place someone was using one of those evil automatic AK 47s and how there should be LEOs at the range to protect the law abiding shooters.

I didn't know either of the and had never met them before, but they sure seemed to be honest to me. Couple in their late twenties and well versed in firearms. Rarely, if ever, have I encountered a married "couple" of adults lying about something, unless they were being personally investigated for a crime. I have no reason to doubt their honesty. They weren't bragging. They were asking the clerk how one could legally obtain a fully auto rifle and how much it costs etc...There recollection of the event and their "story" was certainly very detailed and unscripted.

Your ham handed attempt to hijack it with your repeated incorrect statements notwithstanding, the thread was revived when someone posted what purports to be THE reason, not a hypothetical reason, the police were called.

Snyder clearly referenced that as a legitimate reason. It is clearly written. You, of course, cannot accept that.
