Closet 2A Supporters out there. :)

While waiting in line at the post office an older gentleman asked about my Calguns shirt. He was very supportive of shooting and firearms and felt bad for us Californians since he was from AZ. We talked briefly and gave me a fist bump.

An older lady was behind me and quitely said, "I love guns too." So yeah, I guess CA has some 2A supporters.

    Cool story huh?

    Actually, yes.

Now if we could only have about 20 million more of these type
of encounters, maybe we could turn the corner in this
    Anti Gun state.

I always got compliments when I wear my calguns shirt ... mostly from matronly types.

Alot of Ca residents are gun owners...that doesn't mean that they pay attention to our fight for our rights that are being chipped away little little...

There are tons of people who don't own guns because it's just not their thing but believe others should have the right to do so.

This is why I can't emphasize enough that good PR is so important to our cause. A non gun owner can still vote for things in our favor as easily as they can vote against us so being a responsible firearm owner and NOT forcing agendas down people's throats is very important. Educate and win hearts and minds don't annoy.

It's nice to hear that there are people in C.A. that don't actually spend every waking moment trying to think of ways to strip our 2A rights. Some times, to me, it feels like we are a few thousand against a few million.

I think I may have a wicked case of battered gun owner sydrome.

Lot's of older people support 2A. Not a surprise. We need the average joe to be at least aware of their 2A rights.

exactly...our older generation grew up with a different view of gun ownership, versus what has been programmed into the minds of people over the last 25 years

the problem is, they are dying off...older people also have more problems getting to the voting booths, so, we're losing their vote too

My grandfather was very anti-gun. His father used a gun to commit suicide when the stock market crash of 1929 bankrupted him. My grandfather came home from school to find the body. That was the last day he attended school. He had to work to support his mom and himself thereafter.

My grandmother was pro gun. Her great-grandfather signed the Declaration of Independence. Her parents were missionaries in Nicaragua when she was born. She witnessed a few government coups and saw the need of guns to protect the innocents from the warring factions. Both of her brothers were WW II vets. Guns were to protect the weak and the innocent from evil. She was the one who taught me to love and respect this country.

BTW, when she lived in Nicaruagua, she did hunt with her two brothers. They told me she was a good shot.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

                          Compared to each other...
Younger people tend to favor Gun Control.
Older people are more likely to support Gun Rights.

The over all trend line appears to be gradually heading in favor of Gun Rights.
