            Cosmetic wise the prelocks look better. The Hillary hole is ugly. As for the forged vs. MIM parts its a toss up. I've never heard of a MIM part failure. The prelocks are nice but finding parts is a pain. As a collector you'll be drawn to the prelocks. As a shooter you'll have both.

              The only S&W I have with a lock is a 629 Classic that I won at a FNRA dinner several years ago. The lock has caused me no grief, but my preference would be not to have it. My other S&Ws are all pre-lock.
