When I showed my girlfriend the picture, she said "Ooook, look at me, I'm smart." Dang moonbat doesn't realize why two books by Ayn Rand and a copy of the constitution are perfect props for a gun pic.

I noticed that too. Looks fine until I put the slide onto the frame, then the darn thing starts jutting out. Is this a problem? The performance doesn't seem to be affected. She shoots perfectly fine. Just kind of odd

Also, I live about 30 minutes north of you in SB. Maybe sometime I'll run into you at Shooter's Paradise in Oxnard.

Well she definitely misrepresented her source material, particularly Kant and Aristotle. But whether you agree with Objectivism or not, the fact that she wrote top-notch fiction is undeniable IMO.

Basically, except that Ayn Ran didn't weigh 900 lbs and could write really well.

Well she definitely misrepresented her source material, particularly Kant and Aristotle. But whether you agree with Objectivism or not, the fact that she wrote top-notch fiction is undeniable IMO.

I don't believe in the principles of Objectivism. However both books are culturally important books and do examine some interesting points about society. The stories themselves are interesting, well written and full of suspense. The only criticism I have is that Ayn Rand gets a little too preachy at several points in the books to push Objectivism. It's obvious that her goal was to write two didactic works and if anything, succeeds too well.

I wonder how many people here know who Hank Rearden was? I drove a friend's 1927 Baldwin steam locomotive a couple of years ago. Years before someone had painted the name "Dagny" on the side of the cab. Sadly I was the only one who got the inside reference.

I got those references. At first, I thought it a bit loony to use a book's character as one's online alias, but then remembered that I pulled my alias from The Three Authors Tales.
(But in my case, I co-authored the book, so it's not like I'm using someone else's character...)
