procedure for buying ammo online?

hi, im in the San Fernando Valley, what is the procedure for buying ammo online? i usually buy at my lgs but the 6.5 creedmoor is not readily available. thanks.

Same process as any other on line purchase.

Find a biz with the ammo you want. Put it in your cart. Go to checkout and fill in all the required info. Pay with credit card and its on its way. Your done. Oh.....addiction sets in all too easily!!!

Check gunbroker for ammo. I've got some really good deals on federal HST ammo for my pistols there, better than any online retailer price I've seen.

Some places require that you send them a picture or scan of your ID on the first purchase. Otherwise it is the same as buying from Amazon.

Some places, such as Midway, will not ship to Los Angeles and they go by zip code. So even if you put a city other than Los Angeles (Reseda, whatever) for your address, they will still hang up the sale if you're within the city limits.

Cabela's will ship to Los Angeles, at least they did last time i bought from them.

I just bought 250 rounds of Federal HST 40 cal for $139.95 shipped from a seller on gunbroker, checked sgammo and it looks like I could have saved about $7 by going through sgammo. Thanks for the tip.

The current best price for 9mm 147 gr +P on sgammo is $0.68/rd, I know I've seen it on gunbroker for closer to $0.50/rd. Guess it just depends on the current sale price. The marketplace isn't exactly static.

Be careful with the 140 grain Hornady factory ammo. I don't know if they've fixed the issue, but last year, there were quality control issues. Reload 6.5 creedmoor if you can. (Check sniperhisde concerning the quality control issues.) I had this issue with them not fitting in the barrel and then primers being blown out, etc.
