Don't have any experience with those pistols, but I'd go with a 45 over a 40.

        X-5 x-5 x-5 all day long.

Being that the x5 is pretty much one of the most accurate pistols ive EVER shot. In both 9 and .40
Never shot the 227. But the x-5 is what I'd buy in a heartbeat if I had the funds

              My answer as well. ^^^

For some reason .40 has seriously gone out of style the last couple years. I never bought one, but now the constant pressure from friends or from the web to buy one has completely stopped.

+1. Trigger jobs are cheap too.

                    .45!

The .40 is to flashy/gaudy for my taste. Its a tool not a jewel.

Congrats on the X5 Scandic! You have made a right decision. None of the Exerter Sig models can be compared with German made X5's. Also, with the German import ban the X5s have become harder and harder to find.

I don't operate tactically so I guess it's the X5 for me. Do they come in a .45?

Nice choice, you've purchased a functional and capable piece of art.
