Do You Need A Slide Stop/Release? "Taploader"

Another accessory for Glocks.

Do you want or need this ? if you insert a magazine with force, a little plastic tab on specialized magazines connects with the slide release and releases the slide. loading the pistol just with the action of quickly inserting the magazine.
I guess on the Good News side,
You can just click and not tap/push your mag and slide stop and slide acts as it would normally.

maybe for people who are into competition and want to cut a few milliseconds off.

The only time that my G19 (and my P320, and my old 92FS, and probably thirty other guns I've shot) don't do this is when the mag is less than half-CA-full or I slide it in gently. Because, sometimes, you have to feed her gently.

edit: So... not sure why you'd need a modified slide, modified mags, and a specialized part to do something that the gun normally does anyway.

My 1911 and service m9 both do this. The g19 I rented to try out also did this. It does take some force, but a typical speed reload is enough to jar the catch free.

I find it nice to have, even if a non intended feature. As long as you don't have hammer follow, a bad disconnector, or slam fires, it shouldn't be an issue.

I'm not sure if it's really a bad thing. I haven't had a feed failure when it happens, and my reaction is to hit the slide stop anyway. It's almost a fluid motion for me.

Can a 'smith chime in on whether it's actually BAD for a pistol to do this?

This 'undesirable feature' happens on so many guns it ain't funny. Not sure why anyone would buy something to make it do it on purpose.

I found this line hilarious because it's one of those Emperor wears no clothes truths.
yes, sometimes pistols do this and some don't although most newer guns I think if you hammered the mag and hard enough it's probably enough to trip the slide stop.

that why would you want this to happen.
but if you're heavy into competition and again need that extra 1/8 of a second and you keep your barrel pointed in a safe direction I'm okay with you buying them and using them its America after all and you should be free to do what you want but its just not for me.

maybe a very slight chance of use for very highly trained hostage rescue SWAT officers and I say that just slightly possible, if for instance you were the battering ram guy and couldn't carry a rifle or something similar.

Yes, confused, when I "slap" a loaded magazine into my Glock(s) the slide resets; ready to go.
