Most buyers don't want two guns at the same time unless it's a amazing deal or it's so rare or collectible that they can't pass it up. Even with the money making the case to spend double so that I could get a second gun is very hard unless you have a lot of disposable income and don't have to worry.

Also the big thing being over looked as a Walther lover and collector most guys don't want a P-99 in 40 S&W they prefer or want it in 9mm. If both were in 9mm I might have bought both from you since both are now off roster. But since it's in 40 S&W unless you were almost given it away I wouldn't even consider it.

I just don't get the I need to sell both at the same time or I'll be stuck with one. Right now your stuck with two guns vs only stuck with one. You sell one now and sell the other whenever, it's not going to melt or vanish into thin air if you hold on to it a little longer.

Another thing is if you want to get another gun you might want to trade them both in towards the one you want next. You're going to take hit on price but at least it gets rid of both at the same time. Or put them online for sale out of state and ship them out I'll bet you somebody will want either one if the price is right. But no one is going to want both.

You guys have made some good points. I'm going to split up the pair and sell them out of state when I come back to the US next year. There doesn't seem to be too much demand for the .40 S&W version of the P99, but if I open the market to the rest of the US, I'll likely find someone who will buy the guns.

Oh yes, for those asking, the guns aren't for sale until I return to the US from the Crapistans next year.

If off the CA roster they make more sense to try to sell here first.

Find a buyer that can afford 2 guns at one time, you limit your buyers

Find a buyer that wants 2 of the same gun, you limit your buyers

Find a buyer that can afford 2 guns at once, wants 2 of the same gun and is willing to wait 2 months. Well I think you have probably eliminated 99% of buyers, myself included.

I think your sales strategy was the reason they didn't sell. And if they are off list it makes more sense to sell here in a more reasonable manor.

Offer them for sale a week before you're in town - not 2 months. Set a time/place to meet and do your sale. If I buy 2 at a time I'm gonna expect to pay less per gun than I would buying 1 at a time.

For me, if I buy two of the same gun I want them to be identical (one for carry or HD and the other to abuse at the range). The different triggers would actually deter me from buying both.
