Mine did. Got a glove to shoot it. Lots of trouble.
Added some wood replacement grips and solved the problem.

The slight added thickness keeps my thumb web a bit tighter and it doesn't pinch any more.

I had the hammer bobbed a bit on my 1st Hi-Power and I'm having a Commander style hammer installed as we speak, on my newest addition

The hammers on HP's are notorious for biting people with plumpish hands.

used to get bit all the time...changed the grip slightly and its been fine ever since...i've seen Hickok45 put a piece of tape in that area, seems to work

No. Don't let your hand ride up too high when gripping it.

I'd swap out to the Commander style in a jack second if I hadn't spent $100 on the absolute BEST trigger job I've ever seen on a BHP.

Davis Enterprises in Sacramento had such an awful time with this gun that they said they'd never do another.

A new hammer would mess it all up.

Yes for me too. Plus I could never get consistent with this gun for some reason, so it moved on to a new owner who could appreciate it more than I could.

Oddly no, never had an issue with it and I have the stock hammer on it. Went from the Hogue rubber grips (no issues) to Hogue checkered rosewoods recently (no issues there either)

Yes, they can draw blood. That is why I had the hammer bobbed on mine, along with some other things done to it.

I have never been pinched by mine but it may have got a person or 2 during ww2.

The hammer doesn't bite me, but the slide does get the web of my hand pretty bad when I grip it high.
Would be nice to have a beavertail on there.

At this time, I have three 9mm Hi Powers---a 69C with ring hammer---a 1978 fixed-sight polished blue---an a more recent FN marked MK111 with the factory SFS system installed---none have ever bit me and I have extra-large (but not meaty) hands. Of course the SFS pistol has that systems little bitty hammer. Another pistol that often bites the hand is the orig. SIG P210 9mm---mine doesn't bite me either, but it takes a vicious chunk of skin out of a friends hand---my P210-2 came with black plastic grips---as soon as I changed them out with factory wood grips, it stopped bitting him---the wood grips cause you to grip the pistol just a little lower...
