I purchased a sonic cleaner and during the selection process, I looked at the manufacturer's specifications to insure that the dimensions of the tank were large enough that my handguns would fit. My only regret is not purchasing a sonic cleaner decades ago. Put your parts, frames and slides in the tank with a 50/50 solution of water and Simple Green and turn it on, and in one hour your parts are clean.sigpicComment

How do you get all the water out of all the nooks and cranny's of the frame or does the gun need to be completely dissembled ?Put your parts, frames and slides in the tank with a 50/50 solution of water and Simple Green and turn it on, and in one hour your parts are clean.
If you have a complete frame soaking in water . I'd think you'd need to spray the whole thing down with WD40 or the like to displace all the water trapped inside . YES ? NO ?Tolerate

I recommend against this method of cleaning uppers (especially if you have steel sights).
Compressed are or not, some sights - air simply can not get under that area to force all the water out.
Guns do not need to be squeaky clean. Mine is clean, but with clp products. My guns will never see water (at least on purpose).Comment

As JDay said, compressed air. You can buy a small but good quality air compressor at Sears for around $100.00. Despite 5ZS' concern, I do not have any concern about water remaining in my handguns and other parts, after using compressed air to dry them.
If anyone has a concern about using a 50/50 solution of water and Simple Green, I got the idea from an AGI (American Gunsmithing Institute) video, and I have been using water and Simple Green for over 10 years with no adverse effects.
In my previous post, I omitted one step. After the parts have been cleaned in a 50/50 solution, I rinse them in water, then hand dry with rags and then finish drying with the air comressor.sigpicComment
