    new uber round?

anyone ever heard of 7x46 murray. i hear that it was designed by one of the guys who worked on the 6.8. i havent been able to find any actual info on it except mention of it on different forums with no references cited. from what i gather its supposed to be the "ultimate intermediate round" so naturally im curious.

It sound suspiciously like the 7 TCU (which is the 223 case necked up with a sharp shoulder) that came out in the 70's. The 7x47 was the 222 Rem Mag necked up.

like i said i didnt see any official info on just that it mention on a couple of other forums, and google doesnt turn up anything but those forums on it. i belive they said they based it on 7.62x45 czech but its 7x46 so that doesnt make to much sense to me.

Well, I know nothing of the round and have never heard of it before, but that could make sense. If you were to neck down a 7.62x45 Czech for a 7mm proj, the neck would lengthen and after trimming could easily be an extra mm long at least.

Wow, how old school. They have been playing with 7mm intermediate rounds since the 1940's. Now somebody comes along to tell us they have the best thing since sliced bread. I suppose that 7TCU barrel is just a bit ahead of it's time. And .25 Remington was too. It is good that we have gun gurus out there to tell us these things.
