When I got home last night there was a message from Turners. I though there was a problem with the S&W 627PC that I finished paying off and started the paper work for that day. No, instead they left a message saying the ATF was auditing them and they forgot to have me sign something regarding the Springfield TRP I bought last November 07. They wanted me to come in at the earliest convenance to sign the unsigned paper. Being that I live in Ventura County and this is ruffly a 50 mile round trip journey. Im wondering should I go in on Monday my only day off and ask for some kind of comp (my truck gets 12mpg and its about an hour drive w/ no traffic) maybe a 100 rounds of some Magtech 45 ammo or tell them to wait 10 days and I will sign the paper when I come in to pick up my 627. Whats even weirder is that the same guy that sold me the TRP and did the paper work was just helping me with the paper work on the 627. What should I do?

Tell them your situation and offer to sign it in ten days or, have them drive it to you so you are not out your TIME and MONEY for their mistake. They will probably only offer you a $20 box of ammo which doesn't even pay for the fist half hour of your time.

Just wait until you go to pick up the 627.
If they want it any faster, they can come to you.
They shouldn't give you any grief as you're a repeat customer, let them know that.

They screwed up on some paperwork for me too. It was only the safe affidavit and they faxed it to me to sign and fax back. Just wait til you go to pick up the 627 like others have said, or ask if they could fax it to you. For handguns, the only things I can think of that Turner makes you sign is the safe affidavit, the DROS, the PPT sheet (if it was a PPT), and the "safe handling" check.

I'd echo what others have said. While you don't want to be unhelpful to them, if they need it sooner than when you will be back in their store, it's incumbent upon them to make all of the arrangements that don't inconvenience you. At a minimum, your day off is worth 1/5 of your weekly pay and for purposes of relaxation, even more.

They could scan the form, email it to you, You print it out, sign it, scan it and email it back. If you don't have a scanner, fax it. Scanned or faxed documents are legal.

Gee, dont you think the ten days is the "earliest convenance"? They waited a year to get your paperwork signed, I'm sure its ok for them to wait ten more days.

Let them wait 10 days. But if ATF is on their back, I would tell them to mail/fax the paper works, sign it and mail/fax back to them as a favor because ATF are a**holes.

My question was should I try for a comp and go in on Monday or just wait the 10 days. My earliest convenance may be determined by what if any comp they may offer.

I did a PPT on a python last year at the chino store, Lately they have been calling my office in west covina requesting that I need to go back and complete some paperwork. I spoke with the manager over the phone and ask to have them fax it to me, apparently they can't and it is not convenient for me to drive after work to chino in the evening to complete this paperwork. I understand that it is THEIR ERROR AND OVERSIGHT, But I don't wish to be inconvenienced to rectify their problem. If I am ever in the area, I will drop in to say hello and complete these forms.
