Does anybody have a favorite shoulder holster for ccw? Looking for something comfortable and not bulky. I bought a remora one but it just does not work too well for me. Would mainly be used for winter carry and camping.

Shoulder holster??

I have a galco Miami classic that is modular, I can swap holsters and mag carriers.
It balances well with either magazines or a belt loop on the opposite side.
But the shoulder straps are really large, with a thin sport coat, the straps print.
When I put down roots here, I abandoned the idea of shoulder holster carry, I run hot and can't commit to a coat all day.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. I tried it back in TX. Mine was a G&G
Great holster but the design is just not very concealable. I literally have to wear an oversized jacket for it to be hidden and that defeats the purpose as I look stupid and probably draw more attention to myself.
But I do have to admit I love shoulder rigs and I OC around the house with it all the time. Very Comfy! Also forgot to mention that a shoulder rig is the only holster I have that I can wear comfortably without pants on. So on lazy days where I just wanna watch Breaking Bad or Mad Men marathons in my boxers, I can still have a gun on me!Unless we keep the barbarian virtues, gaining the civilized ones will be of little avail. My boss paid for my shoulder holster here at work - had it custom made at Craft Holsters. It's comfy, well-made and fits like a dream. Well worth the cost. Just be aware that it takes about a month to make. Oh, and it ships from Slovakia. Surprised me when I saw that, heh.
Ignore the phone and such, it was for an EDC thread on...another forum.
Linked it, since it's a larger pic.Comment

You might try a belly band holster. I have a Desantis that is comfortable and works surprisingly well holding the gun against the body at whatever position. I use it frequently for those no pants situations you mentioned. Works good with shorts or sweats. I like it tucked up under weak side arm in cross draw position. Only drawback is warm weather, which doesn't seem to be a concern for you.Comment

I use Alessi or Andrews leather when I wear a shoulder holster. I've owned a ton of them over the years, and I tend to always go back to those two.I'm a big old, bourbon-soaked cigar-huffing ***, as God in his infinite wisdom meant me to be. - Charlie Sheen.Comment

Never thought I'd agree with CG87....but the Galco Miami Classic is a good rig.
I usually use a hip holster for EDC but when I go on long motorcycle rides, the Galco with a G20 comes along.Comment

^^^ +1; both very high quality makers. the OldSchool Alessi Bodyguard arguably is still the gold standard for shoulder holsters of it's kind. Alessi Holsters, Inc. has continued to produce gunleather since the passing of the late Lou Alessi, but for interested parties i suggest obtaining an example that was made during Lou Alessi's lifetime.Comment

Be sure to check out the monarch shoulder holster by Andrews leather. Andrew is a great guy and fun to talk to.
