Charleston Shooter had Glock 41

Latest news is indicating HE did by it with money his parents gave him for his birthday as opposed to prior stories that THEY gave it to him directly.
So yes, it is appearing as if he DID pass a 4473/NICS; a lot of good THAT background check did - complete fail, assuming he went through an FFL. That would seem likely considering the gun looks new. If he did buy it by some means in SC that allows purchase without a 4473/NICS, the media is going to eat that up and regurgitate it out like spray paint from an Evergreen 747 Supertanker firefighting plane.
...save us all if it's the latter, because that topic matter alone will be a media firestorm beyond reproach.-----------------------------------------------

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment

Killer: A website seemingly belonging to Charleston killer Dylann Roof included this photograph of him aiming posing with a gun and a Confederate flag surrounded by pot plants
Did they mean "potted plants"?Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison
The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms. -- Samuel Adams, Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 86-87 (Pearce and Hale, eds., Boston, 1850)Comment
