    Transfer Tax?

In shopping around for a quality FFL dealer, one of the ones I contacted said it was his fee+DROS+Total Tax on the rifle.

Of the five I contacted only one that I contacted said this...

The rifle is coming from Nevada. He told me it was essentially its like buying the rifle from him, and the supplier just does the shipping. Therefore, I need to pay sales Tax.

I bought a Taurus from Bud's Gun Shop about a month ago had it transferred to a local FFL and never had to pay tax on it.

    Whats up with this?

    Avoidance

Most dealers don't charge sales tax on imported guns from another state. I'd avoid using the one that does.

YOU are responsible for paying "use" tax on items bought out of state. My understanding is that your dealer should charge you for the transfer and DROS, nothing more.

Thanks!.. Just so everyone knows, I did do a search, but I must have worded it incorrectly. I got zero hits.
