Hunter Safety Course - SF Bay Area

Hello, a quick search didn't turn up any current opinions on hunter safety courses. Can anyone recommend which online course to take? If there isn't much difference, I'll go with the lower cost option.
    • HunterEdCourse.com ($13)
    • Hunter-Ed.com ($24.50)
    • HUNTERcourse.com ($24.95)

For the follow-up 4-hour exam, I have an email out to the folks at the Pacific Rod and Gun Club to see if they will still be able to do the exam as planned in late June but since the club is closed, I'm curious to see if I'll need to travel to a different location to take the exam.

Any insight would be helpful, thank you!

all of them are the same core material, they have their own benefits, one of them might allow you to use an iphone app for example, and track progress, but essentially they are required to present the same material
    http://homestudy.ihea.com/ is free

as an instructor, i have never 'required' a certificate from one of those places, which is what they boast to provide you with, I only require that you do actually study, by some means, i have also always provided the hard copy book, which I can send you a packet if you PM me your address. (this is an open invitation to anyone wishing to acquire the book/study guide)

I'd offer a class, but I have no location to teach at

      Try here:
Enjoy the natural beauty of our location in the hills of Santa Clara Valley and experience the friendliness of our knowledgeable staff. Please note that if you are not knowledgeable and experienced with shotgun handling and safety, you must be accompanied by someone who is in order to shoot here.

That's Santa Clara county, he only does the 2-day course (although that may have changed), also look for Santa Cruz county for one there

Definitely do the free IHEA online portion. There is no sense in spending the money for one of those online courses.

I'll definitely look at the IHEA online course, thank you!

I took this about 25 years ago which is right around when the Department of Fish and Wildlife changed to an electronic system. I'm really hoping they still have me on file and I can just renew instead of retake the course. Their system is down until Thursday so I'll find out then!

Taking it in Pacifica on Saturday. Don't know if there are anymore open spots. Http://sfarchers.org/ You can get the phone number for info by clicking the link on the calendar for the class.

Check with ism415 also, he may have a class, he and I did a class at the 5.5 SSZS, I won't be able to make it this year though
Someone did PM me about doing a class, I'd have to see if I have a day available, but I can go to SF area to do it if I have a location and minimum 4 students, (I think it's actually 3 minimum but just to make sure) it's better to have more students of course, I can do up to 20, if I get another instructor we could do 40
Again it would depend on the day and my expenses paid, no charge for the class, just expenses paid

My daughter went through their course and I participated in everything but the actual test portion of the course. Very professionally done.

Chuck and crew do a great job, plus they have live fire (hopefully still) really GREAT class for the younger ones, it's two full days also. You can bring lunch or lunch on site, which can be great tri-tip if you want
