After watching that video I got frustrated. he was running in to the same problem I do when reloading. the mags don't always drop out smoothly, especially the larger mags. the extensions always seem to get caught up.

If you leave the sleeve off the extended mags they will drop free. It's not as comfortable without the sleeve, but it will solve that issue. It's also easier to carry the extended mags without the sleeves because they are thinner.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I need to tune the mags and/or magwell and smooth out where they're hanging up. Dropping the flush fit seven-round mags is problematic because I haven't trained enough to tilt the lower part of my hand away from the magwell, so the fleshy part of the bottom of my hand sometimes is still in contact with the mag floor plate.
I'm gonna get some of the eight-rounders as they seem like the perfect compromise.

Good video. I have noticed that I sometimes have to push pretty hard on the mag release, now I know why.

Yeah. I had no idea there was a "fix" for it; I just thought it was the nature of a mag release on a micro pistol intended for concealment. I hadn't seen anything about the fix on the xd talk subforum for the xds. And it'll be a while before I'm home so if you try it out, let us know if it affected anything.

I like mine a lot. When I first got it I HATED the trigger pull. Long and mushy. I had a quick sear and shorter pull put in and it is much much better. It's a great carry gun and I've used it a bunch at Front Sight for training, so I don't have issues with the aim... Other than it really isn't as accurate as my Kimber 1911.

Truth be told, I've had about 3-4 failures to eject, using inexpensive target ammo. So, that had me a bit concerned. I'm going to cycle some carry ammo through it to make sure the load is right for this gun.

The only thing I'd replace it with is a Kobra Carry.

Love my 3.3 9mm. Shoot 50 + yard gongs with it easy. Very accurate. Mine has a heavy but good trigger. Not looking for a super light trigger on a small carry hun anyway. I have what many consider one of the best single stack 9s of all time, the s&w 3913, and the xds is a much better shooter and smaller.

Why are there so many of these for sale? I see a lot of the 3.3 inch barrel 45's for sale for around $800. Is the recoil too much to handle? Did they buy cheap, trying to make some money?

I had one. The recoil was manageable, BUT not much fun to shoot. I realize it's not a range gun, but I still want it to be fun to shoot. I had it on here to trade for a XDs 9 because I really like the platform. It took a couple of months before I found the right guy to make the trade.

He bought both before the end of SSE and sold the .45 a few months later. He wanted another, so we traded his less than 50 rds XDs9 for my like new .45. I get the 9 out of jail at noon today.

I think you'll find it to be a very manageable shooter.

I'll be selling my 3.3" XDs .45 when I move to a free state next month. I'll look for something different, else go with the 4" XDs .45...so far, I'm inclined to carry the XD 4" service 9mm.

Love hate with me and this gun. I don't shoot it as well as the XD - or the 4.5" XDm .45 (which I won't carry!). I don't shoot it enough and should really be using it for IDPA, however, it's SO inconvenient due to low count mags - and I have the extended mags. Didn't realize there was a fix for the mag release, but not something I'd try myself...I updated all the springs in the XDs, well, I did some and had a LGS do the rest.

Oh well...that's what happens when you buy something without trying it!

I think many people might be trying to swap theirs for a 4"...no SSE issues for me any longer, so I'll try what I want after the move
