Have you lowered you round count ?

So since the big sandy incident, have you lowered the amount of ammo you shot at ea single range trip now, (because of $$ or availability or both) or increased it.

If you had made adjustments to this, which direction did you go, UP, or Down by what %, or stayed the same.

I myself have dropped my round count more than I'd like, I buy less store more & shoot less today, by easy 40%. Price being the driving factor.

I still buy guns, from time to time, but ammo is going to be one of those things that, well just screw things up.

What say you CG members, how have things changed for you ?

My round count has no obvious average, even over a large time horizon, due to changing what weapons I am shooting and people I am exposing to firearms, so it's tough to say. Recently I have admittedly guessed.

I'd guess I'm down half. But it could easily spike up again. Price is less of a factor than general availability (think .22lr).

I'm down at least 80-90%, .22 rimfire being a big factor due to the price hike.
I used to go thru 2-3 bricks a month easily plus the major centerfire calibers but now, it is more like 2-3 bricks for 6 months if I'm lucky.
Even for centerfire reloading, prices for components have gone up tremendously as well.

mine has but only because i hardly get to go anymore. but when i do go, i don't keep track but have a general idea of how many rounds each gun has.

When it comes to ammo, early on I followed Crazy Gideons philosophy. Buy it cheap, and stack it deep!!!!!

But I dug out the old RCII press sitting in the garage and got back into reloading over the past few years. Realized that wasn't cutting it and got an RL550 ...

I shoot as often as I can, and with as many rounds as it takes to get me to the point where I'm just tired of shooting and ready to go home. Truth be told, I only make it out once a month or so, so price isn't really a factor.

Since I took up reloading, I shoot a little more, but the real difference is my mentality. Before, when packing my range bag my main consideration was how much to take vs how much to leave in the stash. Now I don't worry about the stash & my main consideration is how much to take until I get tired of shooting.

No, I probably shoot more now than before. I do pay more attention to my ammo stock now and I keep it up at a level that would allow me to shoot during a shortage.

Kudo's to those that can keep shooting like old times, wish I could.

For me, I may have lowered how many box's I take to the range per trip anymore, but on the plus side, camping/fishing, & travel trips are up.

Everything's a trade off, well for some of us anyway, this includes me.

I will be in trouble if ammunition ever comes back down, (as I'll be back) some how I feel many will do the same.

My round count is up, but I don't really shoot my pistols and AR much. Wife and I shoot mostly our shotguns (trap shooting) and ammo has never been a problem for us. Even during the height of panic and ammo scarcity, shotshells were easily available and relatively cheap.

Oddly enough, my round count is up because both wife and I are shooting better now. When you're shooting better, it is less tiring (proper gun mount and all) and at the same time, more satisfying, turning clay targets into dust in mid-flight doesn't get old for me. As a result, I end up shooting more.

I used to shoot 2 cases of rimfire ammo a year. When BO got elected the first time I stocked up on reloading supply's, Not thinking rimfire would be so hard to get.

So I haven't stopped shooting but had to quit shooting rimfire matches. DR
