    How can you have an AR with no buffer tube? I want one like this because I think it looks vaguely like a modernized mauser pistol. those broomstick handle ones.

    Now I just have to find/make a AR compatible broomstick grip...

    that just looks like a project in the works, no barrel and no CH no bolt no buffer. The only way you're not going to use a buffer is with a .22LR

      you get a self contained upper with the piston over the barrel. I think olympic arms makes/made something like that. faxon uppers also should not require a buffer tube. there may be others I dont know about others will probably chime in.

          Yeah, it looks like someone just sticking some parts together(there isn't even a barrel and the OP is wondering how it has no buffer tube?). And no, .22lr isn't the only way to not have a buffer tube.

          BTW, timmeh95. I kind of get what you're saying, but this one would be a little more accuracte.

            I didn't take a closer look at the upper in the first pic. Never saw the missing BCG and such. However if that self contained piston receiver is still a thing that might be a way to do it.
