I'm down to an old Ruger 10/22 in my semi auto collection and it never leaves the safe. I only take my full autos out to shoot.
There's one for sale here in Utah right now for that amount!

this would be one of my top choices..

      HK 91 Transferable Machine Gun HK91 .308 H&K

and NO way am I selling anything out of my collection to fund FA toys..

they aren't all that.. just simple toys for dumping ammo that really does get boring after a while..

btw, FA in CA isn't all that tough to find..

The 10/22 is set up with a Norrell Trigger Pack (about $4,000), ATI 110 round drum and fed with Remington Golden Bullets, which seem to work quite well!

And those who purchase "sear" guns, what are you thinking....
UZI is not bad. I owuld get an AC556 instead as that is the lowest price rifle caliber that can run .22lr on the cheap.

Transferable AR conversions are the best deal. They can be had for as low as $10k.

un married sears are the most expensive for many reasons but you have to understand why in order to understand the price.

They were as cheap as $2800 3 years ago. SOme can still be found as many are still unbuilt in the white and registered.

Those videos do look pretty boring. In states where FA is common there are so many more uses for them including competitions. Shooting full auto at a stationary target is not getting the most out of the gun. That is like fishing from a barrel of fish. Anything a semi auto gun can do a full auto can do and be much more challenging. I had all kinds of semi auto guns and dumped them. They are absolutely boring to shoot when compared to the real deal.

I've never had anyone shoot my full auto guns and then tell me, "Well that was fun for awhile but now I am just bored. I am so glad I can only afford to buy semi-auto guns." Instead they talk for months about how much fun they had shooting full auto and send other people my way to shoot them.

            that tommy gun is great
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

having been shooting full auto small arms and crew served weapons my entire adult life on a regular basis, yah, it gets boring compared to more challenging target shooting..

I have participated in plenty of live fire excersises at moving targets from moving platforms.. can be exciting the first few times.. towards the latter part of my career I found myself not shooting hardly at all but spending more time training others..

most of my buddies with similar experience still prefer marksmanship challenges even with full autos at the range with us.. we spent about 12 hours at Angeles that day and played with the hk53 for about 20 minutes..

granted, we're not professional videographers, but it doesn't appear to be much more exciting shooting at a small farm pond either..

you're comparing the perspective of someone's first time or new to the fun switch vs long term experience or ownership..

I very much enjoy challenging my Barrett at long distance over dumping a thousand rounds at nothing.. I still enjoy plinking with my .22's about as much as anything else..

I will admit, Dillon hosts a good time as well places like knob creek.. but even events like those, you'll find a fair amount of owners sharing more trigger time with guests than themselves..

I will also admit that I enjoy picking up a machine gun or machine pistol that I have never fired before and taking a test drive.. but I for one am not interested in abandoning all of my other guns and shooting sports I enjoy with them just for the garden variety full auto shooting depicted in the op..

fun yes, but not life changing

I would purchase some FA stuff if we could. Not sure how easy they are to sell but to spend 5 or 10k, have some FA fun for a year or so then sell beats 10k in a CD making nothing IMO. 10/22 auto sear would be my first pick. Really no different than buying a boat or motorcycle for a season with the intention of selling.
