The fee will be whatever the CA FFL wants it to be. There is no legal limit on the fee for an interstate transfer, so there is, apparently, wide variation.

Folks will be along soon to suggest a good FFL near Pomona (thanks for putting in your location - saves asking before one can answer!).

Also note that if you are buying from someone who is in the regular business of selling firearms, you will also have to pay sales tax based on the tax rate of the city where you DROS.

As little as 45 and as much as 60. Call ahead and if they charge more then 60, go somewhere else.

You may also have to pay taxes even if purchased from a private individual out of state, it will just depend on the FFL you use, it will just depend on his/hers inturpitation of the law. According to the Ca tax board it is required.

isn't the tax rate calculated by the MSRP of the item or the listed "for sale" price on the receipt? ask the seller to write you a receipt for as low as you can go, I did this with a Noveske N4 lower on here. seller is in Minnesota, I paid his asking price and he wrote a receipt for $50.00 on the lower.

Good reason not to go through Turners, unless you like being ripped off.

I know I may pay the tax. The problem is the rifle I find is 100+ cheaper than in cali and I can't find one in the Cali

Look up Baboosh on the forum here he's an FFL and owns 2A Zone.

He and his Wife are very easy to deal with. I haven't used them for a transfer but I did buy a few pistols.
