Tracking round count, training, and failures

Do you keep track of your round counts, training sessions, and failures in a log?
How do you record your data and what are you tracking?
Does the information help you later?

I've been writing in a paper log and keep the following:

-When I shoot and what gun
    -Round count and ammo used
-Any notes of significance, any specific failures

I have many years of round count data, but nothing consistent on what I practiced that day to track if I've improved.

I'd like to start tracking my performance in a useable fashion instead of just my guns history, and it seems the best way is to log this immediately with a smartphone, although I'm having trouble deciding what app and method to use for recording.

I use to keep count of ammo.

Just by how many cases or boxes I shot each trip. But after 6 guns and reloasing for almost all I gVe up and just shoot now.

I have an iPhone and use this app.
Log your weapons and training in a snap with CCW Guardian. We’ve designed it for in-the-field use with large text and simple navigation. Focus on your training, don’t waste time fumbling with your phone.

I just shoot, I don't track. No plans on ever selling stuff, so only maintenance when needed.

        Sorry, not sorry.

Mark your mags. If you have problems, you might trace it to a mag that needs looked at for a new spring/follower.

I track rd count for 2 rifles so I know when Im getting close to the end of barrel life .These are used for matches and when a barrel craps out I don't want it to be in a match.
            Keep it simple!

If it's a new firearm, I'll keep a break in log. Round count, type and brand of ammo, magazine selection and the mechanical results of each round fired. Didn't do this years ago but started to with a finicky sig p238 so I would have solid documentation when contacting the factory regarding much needed warranty repair work.

^^ this. I don't own finicky guns either, just normal stuff, so not a concern.

Everything significant about variances in ammunition with regard to my sights, (75's vs. 62's and 147's vs. 168's for example) I have committed to memory. The only time I ever write anything down when shooting is when I make little dots with a pen on the target where I THINK my front post was when the round when off. Then, once I look through a spotting scope or go down for a line break I of course see where they actually went!

Nope, I couldn't care less about round count.

Yes, all round counts and notes go into a spreadsheet, after each range trip.

No real purpose, other than I'm an analytical type (data junkie) and want to have some rough idea of how much I am spending each year.

I only track rounds through the bolt gun. I don't care to track anything for the other guns.
