    OSHA shuts down shooting range

I went to go shoot some guns yesterday at Guns, Fishing and other stuff, in Vacaville only to find that there indoor range had been closed down by OSHA, thats all i know about it, does anyone have any inside info as to why it was closed down, and for how long.

I've read various articles mentioning that they're concerned with lead in indoor ranges.

are you happy about it getting shut down, that's the last thing needed. I don't know what the big deal is about the lead, disclosers get signed, and it's the employee's choice to take the job. The range should provide proper equipment for cleaning.

Why are you smiling? Did you want them to get shutdown?

generaly OSHA gives quite a few warnings

the range should have taken action like switching to frangible bullets or something to avoid being shut down

very sorry to see this happen

Only those who ignore compliance. This is nothing new. When indoor ranges in So. Cal. began getting rid of the steel backstops in favor of the rubber ones, it wasn't because they wanted to do it. OSHA and the EPA started looking hard at indoor ranges about 4 years ago. They don't walk in the door one day and shut you down by surprise (they aren't the BATFE.)

While I don't want to see indoor ranges shut down, this store doesn't have quite the customer service I'd personally expect from a gun store. Too bad for all of us, but no real sympathy from me on hearing this news.

No, they aren't the same. They just use different authoritarian methods and petty bureaucratic power to achieve the very same civilian disarmament goals.
