PSU for licensing?

I was looking around and stumbled onto a site, http://homeffl.com. Well besides FFL they have a bunch of other stuff on the site, reloading, bodyguard, and gunsmith licenses. Anyway, are these things worth the time? The prices and what is claimed seems too good to be true. I have learned from past experiences that if things seem too good to be true then they probably are. So, did I just answer my own question? Anyone have opinions of Phoenix State University.

From what I remember, the primary challenge to getting a type 07 FFL is having a place of business. The ATF was cutting down on so called "Kitchen Table" FFLs in years past. Although I've done business with one such dealer just a couple of years ago.

It's nonsense. An FFL in town bought the package just to see what he would get. The "kit" was the FFL application packet that you can get from BATFE for free, the "certifications" were from an organization also owned by PSU. Coursework for the "certified gunsmith" course was about 30 pages of paper with a 20 question "final exam". Phoenix State University is not in Phoenix, and is not a State University.

BATFE does not require any sort of other certifications in order to obtain an FFL. They will grant you a home based license IF your city/county allows it. They (the ATF) doesn't care, it's just that they must abide by local zoning requirements.

I bought the packet when I started out. If you are looking for a place to help you get started I would recommend RK enterprises in Santa Barbra. Ask for their California dealers packet. Yes you can get all the info from the ATF but it is handy to get all the DOJ and ATF info in one package. I did use the PSU gunsmith course just so I would have a certificate that said gunsmith on it.
