Lol, even if it is made in the USA, the workers who made it were probably "imported" instead. Who do you think works in sweatshops? Some kinds of work (like mass sewing) you just can't pay Americans enough to do anymore.

My belief is that this is a myth. You can pay Americans enough to do hard work, the thing is that most employers DON’T pay Americans enough to do hard work. It's not the workers who've changed, it's the employers. Unfortunately in many cases it's what they have to do to stay competitive with other companies who continue to outsource. Factory work in America used to mean a good solid middle class income, but now a days more often than not it's just a notch better than working fast food (depending on the type of factory and skill / training involved).

What’s worse is after decades of outsourcing and cheap domestic labor we’ve got immigrants both legal and illegal flooding the country, and China has built up to the point that they could take us over at any second, heck, they practically own us already. Our social services can’t keep up, and the blue collar middle class is close to extinction.

Even the minimum wage jobs have suffered. Dunno ‘bout where you live, but around here 10 years ago all the minimum wage jobs were held by high school and college kids, now they can’t get a job unless they speak Spanish, and it’s not because the customers speak it, it’s because %90 of their would be co-workers refuse to speak English in the kitchen at Micky-Dee’s.

Now in all fairness, if I lived in Mexico, China, India, etc. would I try to immigrate to America for a better life and take the best job I could get? Of course I would!
