    Sig P238 Mag

I have been looking for P238 Mag and found a few brands from cheapest, ProMag, MetalForm, Sig. $15 and $18 for the first 2 and $20 (MET3807S) and $40 (MAG-238-380-6) for Sig. Not sure why such a price different between the Sig. Also not sure if the first 2 brands are any good.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming that your P238 is for CCW, I wouldn't even consider anything other than a sig factory magazine. A twenty-five dollar difference does seem a lot for a target/plinker shooter but is chump change if you CCW in terms of your life. Stick with who engineered the weapon and the accompanying magazine-bite the $25.00 bullet and move on. I did.

True that. I could buy 1 Sig mag for my wfie so she has 2 really good one with her all the time. But for range practice and such, how are the off brand?

Many failures in semi-automatics are magazine related, so it's critical to have proper functioning magazines.

I'd rather have 1 good magazine than 100 of those promag pieces of junk. My tried and true favorite brand is Mecgar, those guys just make good magazines.

Unfortunately your gun doesn't appear to have a good alternative to factory mags, but if it helps, here's a link where factory Sig is $35 (for 6 or 7 round mag) with $9 flat rate shipping.

Buy a promag or two as range or practice mags and use the factory mags for anything serious. Maybe buy one promag if it doesn't work trash it and never buy one again.

These little P238s are hassle free even for the slight of hand when it comes to racking the slide or loading the magazine. I see absolutely no need to own more than two factory mags for range practice. If you feel the need to pack CCW two extra magazines then do so, all of which should be built by sig.

I haven't subscribed to a private or public pay as you go range in over twenty plus years as I have a pistol range on my property where there is no "fee clock" ticking. I still see no sense in loading up a bunch of P238 mags before entering the pay range in order to "beat the clock" as they load like butter quick on their own.

I suppose what you say is true. My prior experience with Glock mag just haunt me to get a few extra but these are a bit easier.
