If you push that dollar amount you may be able to get into a Savage Ba. 110 used. But if Glass is in your $1500 budget. May be a little hard to find a rifle and glass that can take the butt whooping 300win mag in a lite rifle puts out.

What is your intended use for the rifle, target, hunting, recreational shooting?

Remington 700's sell for $600 and an swfa scope for another $300 and you'd still have enough for a decent stock.

mostly for hunting, because I have two 308 with heavy barrel too heavy for hunting.

If for hunting get a Kimber and go with the 300 WSM.

At that price range I think T3 is better option, T3 is shoots submoa out box.

Weatherby Vanguard(Howa), savage, Tikka, Ruger all make rifles that work. Buy what FITS you and do not listen to the people telling you that you have to buy brandX.
A Leupold 3X9X40 or 3.5X10X40 Duplex reticle non-AO will set you for life.

I am a hunter and not a Mr gadget type of guy. I am very successful. Zero it in 2.75" high at 100 yards and hold on the animal out to "TOO FAR" ranges and you will have meat in the freezer.

My tang safety Ruger M77 in 300win mag has been mag-n-ported and wears a Leupold 3X9X40 duplex reticle scope and has taken game. So do the other 13 hunting rifles have 3X9X40 leupold scopes except one with a 3.5X10X40 and I plan to get another 3.5X10X40 to replace the 3X9X40 on the 257Weatherby. Not sure I need to as I have taken pronghorns at 600+ yards using the 3X9 Leupold on it. I just want to and since it is for long range shooting I am toying with a 4.5X14X40 Leupold for it.

If you were closer I would let you shoot mine if you wanted to do so to get the idea. Just a sub note: A 30-06 or 308 Tikka T-3 Lite will take everything you want to shoot with less recoil and in a lighter to carry rifle. But if YOU want a 300 then you should get one.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Never shot the 300 in light rifle. I did shoot my friend has AR 30 in 300, that rifle is too expensive and heavy but recoil like 223.
My R25 is about 21pound the AR30 is about 2 pound more.

Look at the Tikka T3 models. They are very nice rifles. They're made by Sako and are comparable to their high-end rifles.

thanks for the inform. I being want larger caliber for while, but the cost is too great. Now I just start reloading so I can hand load match ammo for lower price, and bullet and primer is same as 308. that why I want 300 win mag. Leupold is good scope i will look into it.

If you want to hunt, pick up a Tikka T3 Lite.
