    Payment wait time?

I had a CGN member say he wanted to buy rifle. I asked, to let me know when payment is sent.(I like money orders.)How long do you think one should wait on info of payment? If it will take a few days, I'll like to know. How long should I leave,"Sale pending" in add? THX for input.

    What I did

I bought a rifle from Gunbroker and I sent pictures of the money orders with the sellers name on them to let him know they were on the way. Just have the buyer sent a phone pic of the money order before being sent to give you a peace of mind.

If they are unresponsive after several days of sending PM's I think it is reasonable to move on. I don't know if there is a rule to cover this. Make sure you let them know you have moved on.

I had a money order sent to me. Communication is key. He told me when he mailed it and I added 7 postal days for it to arrive before I should worry. It arrived in 4 days.

Give it about a week from the day he said that it was sent. Good luck.

I always take a pic of the money order I send and will text it to the seller. If they do not give a cell number to text I pm the serial number and the date sent, I ask for a pm once received etc ...... Communication is key.

Back when it was all about Postal money orders...for me it was assumed that the weekend was the longest acceptable timeframe to get payment out...

Usually an email with the money order number was sent to confirm...

The rule is treat others as you'd like to be treated.

Once a deal is made, I expect it to be handled as quickly as possible. That applies to both buyer and seller. Several days is far too long.

You can simply check Payment Sent option on the auction.

If the seller only accepts money orders (especially USPS only), a few day delay is rather normal. Buyer might need to have time to go and buy it.

Of course. Don't mind a few days as long as buyer has sent me a message stating payment was mailed and is on it's way. I'd do the same. I was talking no response for several days. That would not work for me.

As long as the guy is in contact with me, I have patience.

In the future, best to work out the details ahead of time.

Give it a few days, if it goes more than a week then he probably backed out on you.
