Does anyone use VCI bags?

I used to have the Bianchi Blue Bags for all my pistols. Great accessory item for storage. Five years and then I'd send them back to Bianchi in Temescula, CA and they would send me back a new, fresh set.

Then, they stopped making them. Damn! Now, all I can do is grease up my pistols and put them away.

I just found these Birchwood Casey Coppertect bags on Graf's and CTD. Has anyone used them? I haven't found any local shops that carry them. Plus, seeing that I need about two dozen, it get freakishly expensive. Can I buy just the VCI materials? Would it be more cost effective?

You can buy 1,000 12" x 12" sheets of VCI paper from a packing supply place for $40 or so, or a 36" x 500' roll for $80 or so... probably much more cost effective.

Now that's a good idea. I just couldn't figure out where to start. When I searching on the net and the forums - nothing. The only info I got were industrial applications for machine parts in INDIA! And, they wouldn't sell me just a small order.

I used to work for a precision machining and fastener company but we never used VCI packaging - our stuff didn't run the risk of corrosion based on its application, we just had polyvinyl baggies that we would seal. I remember my S&W and Ruger was wrapped in some weird paper, I didn't know it was VCI-type. I thought VCI wrapping was just polyvinyl bagging.

I have been using the KleenBore Inhibitor bags for a while and I am happy with them.
