Video clears permit holder in defensive shooting. TX

The video definitely helped the permit holder in this defensive shooting. Without the video, conflicting witness statements could have landed him in prison.

Yep, if we ever have to shoot lets hope we have the same objective back up. Sad part that gets missed, as a CCW he saw things were going down hill, requested that his order be rushed so he could leave and avoid a problem. Typical of those who bear the responsibility of carrying for self defense were more sensitive to threats than most, and know we bear a burden to avoid provoking or being seen as provoking an incident.

Kudos for his putting the weapon on the counter and making the CCW call.

Well said Grantar2. Unfortunately, he had to take a man's life. I hope he rests easy knowing he did everything he could to avoid the situation. He was forced into a bad situation by his attackers and he prevailed without injury.

I don't know if leaving his weapon on the counter was great idea but after all he went through, I'll give him the benefit and say that I don't know that I could have done any better. He handled the situation very well, despite people saying he should have done this or that differently.

        Kudos to him.

Sad part is that if you listen to the 911 recording he tells the dispatcher that he's going to be on the ground when the police arrive explaining to the dispatcher he didn't want to get shot for no reason. The dispatcher was like "okay", probably realized then that the guy was black.

First of all, dupe. Second, Fort Meyers is in FL, not TX

Sorry if it is a duplicate, I posted this concealed carry discussion and someone moved it here. I didn't write "TX" in the original post, I think it has to do with them moving it or someone added it later.
