    Suppressor Testing

Even though we can't have suppressors in Ca, I thought some of you might be interested in this. Military Arms Channel is embarking on what will be a series of videos testing various cans. Their first vid is on .556 cans and they plan to do .308, 9mm and 45 ACP...they are also gonna test .556 through, what I presume will be a .308 can.

Note that this isn't up on the MAC YouTube channel yet. I think they release videos a day or two early on Full30...unless this is going to be a Full30 exclusive.

Before i watched I assumed which can would be the loudest and I was spot on.

I like the consistency of the GA SPR. First round pop was only 1db louder then all the others. Too bad it's not full auto rated.

I don't really care for 556/308 cans. I only use mine when I demo on an indoor range. The video shows how lame they are since most of that noise is the sonic boom.

I look forward to the .22lr and 9/45 cans.

No ear pain. Whereas had I done the same thing, with a normal .22lr rifle, my ears would have been hurting badly. Obviously, the sonic crack was occuring outside of the vehicle. You can always use subsonic ammo if you need really quite shooting. HOwever, given the 150 yd range limitation of effective use of subsonic .223, might as well just use the 60 gr subsonic Aquila .22 ammo, thru a conversion unit in the 223 auto rifle. Ciener makes such units for the AR, AK and mini-14.
I call BS. The db level 10 inches to the side of a suppressed 5.56 is around 135 decibels. You'll have pain at anything above 120db. So you either have already sustained permanent hearing damage or you're making this stuff up.

He's not been here long and made a few "out there" claims in a few threads.

Pop in his post history. Some good reads in there.

I was going to make the same observation along with a few others but wanted someone else to have a turn.
