    Dreams about heavy trigger pull?

I watch a lot of Sons of Anarchy, etc. and have been reading Larry Correia's Monster Hunter series so that probably has an effect, but I've had several dreams of late where I need to use a handgun in self defense only to find that the trigger is insanely heavy (I have to use my middle finger and each shot takes several seconds), or that the rounds have little affect on the assailant. Does this happen to anyone else?

I used to have those dreams. Don't get them anymore since I put a lot of time behind my guns.

There was a thread on this years ago. Some people had dreams of heavy trigger pull, other had dreams of not having the correct ammo for their firearm when in a conflict.

              Mine were the later.

                In before no bacon option.

I dreamed of heavy trigger pull the night after I tried a SW9VE.

I haven't had those dreams oddly. Especially since I am constantly reading/watching gun stuff. But, my wife does have them from time to time. The gun won't go into battery, malfunctions, weird sights or trigger or the bullet comes out in slow motion and takes forever to hit the bad guy.

But that doesn't mean I don't have those types of dreams i suppose since I rarely remember my dreams anyways.

I'm usually setting up in a ambush situation with 6-7 guys on a wooded road and dream I have .308 ammo for my .223, or pistol ammo for my rifle. I wake up all pissed off an my wife thinks I need help.😎

                        Dreams about heavy trigger pull?

Wow.. How strange for me to find this thread. I just had a similar dream last night for the very first time since I've become a gun owner.

In my dream, it took place in the afternoon. Heard some sound outside which woke me from my nap. My kids are all playing in their room so for sure no one is in the living room area. Grabbed my G19 Gen4 and carefully proceed out to the living room area. Turned to the left and saw someone trying to come in from the screen door.

"HEY!" I yelled... It spooked him.. He trips and fell on his butt from kiddos shoes all over the backyard. At that point his gun fell out of his gym shorts. So in fear for my life, I pointed my Glock at him and... WTF! It's a stainless S&W 6" and the DA is heavy as hell and it won't budge! Same goes for SA too!

He fired but it was on safety. By then he got up and went around back trying to leave. But I had a feeling he is coming back for sure.

So I head towards to garage to flank him, cut him off. Opened the garage door only to find the side door kicked open and he was camping behind the bumper of our minivan... Waiting for me.

I pointed my Glock at him again and ***** it's still a heavy DA/SA S&W. Where in the world is my Glock? I looked at the sight picture and notices it's a kid from my daughter's school... Hesitated.. Tried to squeeze the trigger but it won't go... He ended up landing two rounds on me.. One on my left hand and another on my left shoulder. By then police came and the kid was long gone...

I woke up this morning with cold sweat and heavy breathing. Worst of all is I don't even own a freaking revolver! Before was using my P01 as HD gun, but didn't want that taken away, so got the Glock instead. Maybe I just need more practice with the G19. Or maybe that's what I get for drinking too much Soju with late night snacking before bed.

Crazy, I thought I was the only one. I used to get those exact same dreams a few years back. I don't get them anymore. Good to know I wasn't the only one. My friend who's a cop had to shoot and kill a man with a gun his first year on the job. He told me he would have nightmares after the incident of the same incident happening again except his gun would explode after his first shot. Crazy how the human mind works.

When I was an LEO I often had those dreams. Not so much since I retired.

I too have had dreams about long trigger pulls. In my dream the guns still go off but I usually have to pull so hard that I totally miss my target or am already hit by the time I get one shot off. Very unpleasant dreams.

I dont have them consistently but more like once every other month but in the end, it always returns. I wish I could give more details of the dream but I have terrible memory of dreams. Nightmares usually stay with me and I guess this would qualify as a nightmare but for whatever reason (maybe my mind is just happy to have a gun in the dream) it doesn't register/store the info like a normal nightmare.
