I've discovered a spunky straight-shooting "No-B.S." magazine. It's about a year old or so and the content is very straightforward and VERY practical.
It's called "Concealed Carry" magazine. I just became a subscriber about a couple of months ago and my first two issues have been veru down-to-earth and very informative.
