How CC can save your life

Hello all, I know I'm kind of new here, but with all the negative publicity lately on firearms and concealed carriers ... I just had to write about something positive and really pose the question to gun-control fanatics - How would you keep you and your family safe in say a carjacking scenario?

Let me know what you all think!

It's depend on the location. In Los Angeles area, call 911 & hope for the best. It's not easy to shot bad guys in LA. Even LAPD were in hot water when they involved in gun shooting scenario

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

That's only because they have a habit of confusing old Asian women with 300 pound black men and display trouble telling the difference between blue Tacomas and grey Silverados sometimes, not because nobody cares when they shoot an actual bad guy.

tough call...since we're not legally permitted to use lethal force to protect property in CA, i would have to feel that anyone approaching my vehicle with the intent to take it is probably the same type of person who isn't going to be afraid to jack my car by whatever means necessary...i would have to believe said carjacker is most likely armed, and, serious...that in itself would put me in a "fear of life" situation for me and my family

i would proceed based on that fear and deal with the repercussions later

my friend was the victim of a carjacking over 30 years ago...he was at the drive-thru of a fast food place, was approached by a guy who demanded his vehicle...as my friend was getting out of the vehicle, something spooked the carjacker and he shot my friend in the neck...he's been a quadriplegic with numerous health issues and a very poor quality of life every since that evening

I love all of your input ... being new here it's nice to chat with everybody. I was born in raised in CA and I hated life. We live in Arizona now and I can carry whatever I want however I want, but all of our family and friends still live there and it saddens me that the laws so often hurt law abiding citizens. I use to cc even without the permit because I will protect my children at all cost.

I am very sorry for your friend who suffers from the neck injuries - it is so unfortunate when bad guys use guns; it makes it harder for everybody! I will pray for your friend.

I'm glad this article got a little conversation going and my family will continue to support gun rights in CA and across this nation.

Those of us lucky enough to live in Sacramento county can CCW and I can tell you us carriers up here are relishing every moment....definitely not taking it for granted.
I donate to CGF and FPC hoping that someday those Californians in LA and SF can CCW as well.

                    carjacking scenario....

#1 Be aware of your surroundings

Doesn't matter if you drove a tank with a ton of cannons and machine guns, if you're not aware, someone can sneak up and ambush you.

When you're aware of your surroundings, if you see someone suspicious approaching, take off (You're in a 4,000lbs+ car) If he/she becomes and threat(weapon) and tries to box you in or block you. Run him/her over. It'll be faster than drawing a firearm and putting rounds on target.

When I have passengers in the car I ask them to help me look around for people when I'm at a ATM drive thru. Also never leave your car in Park, always in drive so you can take off.

Forgot to mention, keep the car doors locked. The land rover below has their doors unlocked.

Skip to 33 seconds to see the Land Rover run over a group of aggressive bikers. Not exactly a car jacking but it shows how to use a car as a defensive tool

With a lock on your car door obviously! Duh!!

Oh and if they get through that, don't let them take the car key... Jeez such silly questions

In the case of the CCW in Orem, UT, were there children in the car?

I don't believe there were and I wish the author of the article wouldn't have hinged her case on children in the car. The anti's will focus on that instead of the fact that it was woman being overpowered by the carjacker.

There is enough good cause for carrying a concealed weapon using just the facts of this event without playing a bunch of what-if cards.

I thought Dorner rolled in a Honda Ridgeline.
