    Should I buy this

Just wondering if I should buy this .22 rifle. It is a JC Higgins single shot for $50.It is just a Sears gun. Do you know if I should buy this and if it is worth it.

Also do I have to do a PPT since it is from 1924 and is only assembled with 21 parts.

Is that too much and should I register it. I don't think I have to right?

No need to register/Dros anything. It is beyond 50 years old. Cash and carry from who ever is selling it. $50 bucks, why are you asking? Snatch it up.

What does 21 parts have to do with anything?

            Guess I willbuy

Does anyone know anything about these? Are they collectible? Are they worth anything. I was wold if it had anything less than 25 parts you dont have to register it no matter how old it was.

NICE!!! I have a model 42DL It appears identical to yours except that mine accepts detachable mags. I think I have two seven-round mags for it.

They aren't worth a whole lot, but for 50$ I'd definitely buy one.

In fact... that's really weird. Our rifles serial numbers are only 20 apart. I've got 103,19800

Other than the model number and serial number, the markings on mine are identical to those.

I would be careful though about thinking it's from 1924. Mine came directly from my dad, and it was bought from Sears in 1964-66 I believe.

He might have meant 64 not 24 I will ask him about that. Thanks for the info. Too bad mine wont take mags.

Since it might be 1964 you might have to DROS it. Which sucks because it will add $35 to the total cost of the rifle. But hey that's CA for you. Always wanting your bucks. I say buy it. It looks like it is in great shape. If you have a young shooter in the family, this will be perfect for them to learn on.
