Two different purposes. The 42 is truly a pocket gun, ankle gun. The 42 is an accurate, dependable backup or hideout gun. If I could conceal a 43 I could carry my 26, Hands down I prefer the 26 if for no other reason than magazine capacity and magazine options.... Glock 19, 18, 17 all interchange. What else interchanges with the 43, crickets I hear just crickets. Would I buy a 43 you betcha but that is because I just want one.

3rd party manufacturers will probably add a +1 or +2 extension for G43. I have a G42 with +2 extension from Galloway Precision. Adds an inch to bottom of the frame.Comment

I have a G30SF that works just fine for CCW. No need for a smaller, lower capacity, and reportedly snappier recoil pistol for me.sigpicComment

Crickets? The Glock 43 just came out. Is it really that important to interchange magazines? I would think regardless of capacity, it is just important for "shot placement" as opposed to capacity. Although interchanging magazines could be a benefit to most, IMPO the concept evolving around the Glock 43 was to have a smaller, concealable firearm as an alternative to the Glock 17, 19 or 26.
I believe the Glock 43 is another alternative to the larger 9x19 Glock firearms.Comment

Glock 30 vs Glock 36 argument.

Having actually held both the 43 and 26, I can tell you they are in no way even close to each other in size, or feel. The numbers on paper do a great disservice to the diminutive size and conceivability of the 43. The 26 is a literal "brick" by comparison, or a 2x4 with a finger hole.
Inter-changeability of magazines is only a plus if you're in a combat situation, or belong to an organization where your partners all carry like hand guns. It's more of a "tactical" reason to have that feature, not something needed, or even considered by most people who CCW and certainly not a consideration of the manufacturers.
Get rid of a 42 just because the 43 came out? Why? 42 is still more concealable and certainly likely to have much less recoil, for those who desire less recoil, and who doesn't?Comment

I can get a 43 without any difficulty... and I'm not bothering. Too little, too late on Glock's part as far as I'm concerned.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment
