I will be getting 6k and I want to spend it either having my Rem. Model 7 (243 cal.) with a medalist stock, built up to a 6.5 creedmoor or buying one off of gunbroker. I will be using the rifle for hunting from coyotes to cow elk, and tactical shooting matches out to 600 maybe 800 yards. I am a older guy to some and I don't plan on hiking a lot with it, when I hunt. I am just looking for some advice that I might not have thought of yet.

You CAN Have one built for a lot less and spend more money on the scope. 500 match set, 500 barrel, 200 bcg, 200 stock, 250 trigger, 300 rail, 35 gas block, 50 lpk, 40 buffer tube kit. Few other odds and ends than find someone to assemble if you cant. You can get a 2000 scope and rings.Comment

6k
Well guys I just got back from a shooting event and I am now looking into the 6.5 grendel does it drift about the same as the creedmoor out to 500 yards? Will it have enough power to take a elk out to 300 yards? Would the round group the same out to 300 yards? I do not reload, because of that would buying the ammo be a wash grendel vs creedmoor? Does a manufacturer make copper loaded rounds for the grendel?Comment

Creedmoor > Grendel if you're looking for supreme accuracy. The round keeps going past 1K without any effort.
The best thing about 6.5 Creedmoor is the factory ammo is EXCELLENT. If you don't reload, no problem.
Barnes makes copper rounds, AFAIK.
You can build an amazing 6.5 Creedmoor for less than 6k.

Funny, when I saw this thread I thought of something similar but with a Gen 2 Razor on it.Creedmoor > Grendel if you're looking for supreme accuracy. The round keeps going past 1K without any effort.
