All the benchrest rimfire guys I knew were using Ed's Red because they didn't have to worry about copper.

I've used Ed's Red according to your formula for years to clean AR's and auto pistols. It can't be beat as a solvent. It literally eats carbon. It is an especially good parts soaker after a lot of rounds through an AR or other really dirty firearm. It doesn't hurt anything I know of. I won't be without it. It will attack copper but you have to wait a couple of days for it to do it, so on AR's I use WipeOut for copper and Ed's Red for anything else. ER does not lubricate. Be sure not to buy the water based mineral spirits as it ruins your mix. The best medicine for corrosive ammo is still Windex, with hot soapy water coming in second.

The ATF is the lubricant component in ER.
Mod recipe to increase ATF and less other ingredients as needed.
This fulfills the need to be a "mad scientist" we all experience from time to time.

There must be a couple hundred brands of gun oil/lubes/protectors/cleaners/homemade mixes/etc.
I've used BreekFree CLP for over 25+ years (maybe longer, I can't remember)---all my firearms run fine---no rust---what more can I ask?
There is one area were I've used something else for a specific problem---plastic coating the inside of shotgun barrels from plastic wads---for this specific problem I use RemClean---takes the plastic crap RIGHT out---dry bore afterwards---apply CLP to prevent rust.
Gun lubes/rust prevention does not have to be complicated...

The ATF may show up in the chemical formulas as a lubricant, but in reality ER is quite volatile and dries completely off in a very short time. ER should never be used as a lubricant.
