I agree that there may be some positives to not being able to SSE firearms. I can now allocate funds to finish my Grendel build and also to other hobbies. Plus, I have a featureless build I am about to start so I have funds for that.

No advantage IMO...the ban on SSE simply sped up the timeline for alot of people to go out and buy guns ahead of schedule or impulsively... If there was no threat to SSE, life would go on and we'd still be able to purchase handguns on our own time line.

The fact we even had or needed SSE was a travesty.
The fact it is now gone only a greater travesty.

I thought the same thing until I wondered into the 1911 world. Good thing for overtime and plenty of it.

All the end of SSE did for me was move forward my purchases for the next 2-3 years into 2014. Now I look around and nothing peaks my interest so no gun purchases yet in '15. Plenty spent on ammo and scheduled classes.

There were certainly lots of good things that came from SSE. I knew a family that were living on limited funds, but the mother and father wanted a gun for home protection. This allowed them to pick up one of the Taurus guns for less than $300. Many people used the SSE because they wanted one of the cheaper guns no longer available on the roster.

The M9A3 is an on roster Inox Vertec with a more rail cuts and a different color scheme. Check out the Inox Vertec and I'm sure you'll find it to be a worthy substitute.
