    Observations from weekend shoot...

So I headed out to BLM past Barstow to a very very off road location. I was surprised buy the numbers of other folks out there setting up targets and what not. It was both good to see yet sad that our once very off the beaten path location had so many other people..

So during the days shooting, BBQing and relaxing we noticed all the other shooters echoing sounds of .223's, 308's and 9mm to 45's etc. What I found the most "enjoyable" were the 30 or more rounds fired out of said long guns Form all around us; which meant more then one other group had naughty mags When it got past 5pm we also heard FA from two locations.. then aerial fireworks boomed My friends asked me if they were illegal to which I replied "Yes but you would have to be one suicidal cop to head out to deep desert surrounded by free Americans".

Yes, I know... "Cool story brah.."

I was just discussing shooting out in the Barstow area with my buddy this morning. It is cool that so many people are exercising their 2nd amend rights, it would just be even cooler if they cleaned up after themselves after they get done.

I don't know about you but we seem to find more spent shells and shooting trash every time we head out there. I do love shooting out in the desert though.

You mean some beers and shots of whisky would have been bad??

BTW/ we at no time had FA or greater then 10 round mags... That I can swear to. My wife would have had my balls if I got busted for that...

Carrying concealed with out permit in LA county is a protest to our anti freedom sheriff but that's where I draw the line. (for now)

Looks like remote places will get more and more crowded as the "local" spots get closed down. Fun stuff indeed!

I was out north of Barstow saturday all day. There was a crap load of people where there is never usually anyone.

All the secret good spots are being overran and trashed.

I actually used to shoot for years and years right where the calguns zombie shoot is now held and never really encountered anyone. Now that that spot is so well known, I see threads asking where to shoot and a ton of people spread the word to go to that exact area. I see nothing but crowds now forcing me to go deeper and deeper away from people.

All my guns were legal. I didn't hear any FA myself, it was windy on top of the hills I was in. Coulda been bump fire? If I did see or hear anything I would keep it to myself anyways.

It's not illegal to use Preban high caps or bump fire. Giving the benefit of the doubt. I really don't care if anyone goes out to blm and does what they want as long as it's safe and they be respectful of the land and take out what they brought in.
